Move N' Groove asked her...
How do you incorporate movement in your everyday life?
I try to move my body everyday in some form of exercise. For me, this may mean a cycle class, weight lifting, walking, dancing, yoga, stretching, or even swimming. It's important for me to like the movement that I am doing, in order to truly enjoy myself.
Who is your favorite mover of all time, and why?
There are so many that I am inspired by and I think there is beauty to that. Movement is unique for everyone so I get inspired by different modalities for different reasons. Right now, I am closely following Kendall Toole, a Peleton instructor and Mental Health Advocate. I am a sucker for anyone who brings in a wellness approach to their movement. Kendall's overall message of "never knocked out" brings to light the mental struggle that can coincide physical struggle.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind for the next generation of movers?
Lean into uncomfortability, don't let fear hold you back. It's important to ask yourself what is that uncomfortability teaching you? Also, let your body be your guide. Movement can release built up emotions, let your movement set you free.
What are some staple clothing pieces that help you in your movement journey?
Leggings or Bike shorts, cute tops, anything that makes me feel comfortable yet confident!
Ali is obviously gorgeous on the outside, but is just as beautiful on the inside. Her light shines strikingly bright to all she encounters, and she is a truly inspirational mover that we admire.
